My Story:

If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard how well spoken or articulate I am, I’d be retired on a private island...

The backhanded compliments truly are “death by 1,000 cuts”. It makes you question any positivity that you receive.

That in turn lowers your self esteem as you’re often wary of accepting praise or compliments at face value. It’s an exhausting way to go through life.
